CK Net Hospital Solution
Making the Connection
CK Net, a comprehensive solution developed by Charter Kontron, is a networked monitoring and information platform designed to address the increasing demand for integration and connectivity in today’s dynamic hospital environment.
Why CK Net?
The principal benefits of CK Net are based on its ability to provide the following capabilities:
Continuity of Patient Data
Connectivity to Hospital Information Systems
Integration with other vendor devices
Continuous On Line Access
Hemocis–CK’s Database Interfacing
Research Reporting and Archiving
Wireless Monitoring
CK Net is a tailor-made solution designed to address the specific needs of the medical professional and hospital administrator.
Continuous Patient Data
CK Net enables the constant flow of patient data throughout the hospital and the entire hospitalisation period. Continuity of this vital data provides a solid base for understanding the case development and administering the proper treatment at all times.
HIS/LIS Compatibility
The system’s server enables full integration and compatibility between the Hospital Information System (HIS) and emergency and operating rooms, intensive care units, pathology laboratories and various clinical wards. This server gateway minimises errors in patient identification, reduces the time spent entering demographic data and provides a tool for data collection and follow-up. The innovative software makes it possible to send queries from the monitors to the HIS for patient demographic information at all times.
Moreover, the Laboratory Information System (LIS) may be presented automatically at the bedside monitor, with the latest results highlighted via clear indication on the monitor display.
Vendor Connectivity
The CK Net solution allows for full integration of data from a range of external third party devices with patient monitor vital signs, including ventilator anaesthesia machines, transcutaneous gases, continuous cardiac output and SvO2. All data is conveniently presented graphically or numerically on each monitor.
Continuous Online Access
CK’s solution enables remote access to monitors from any location within the hospital. Moreover, online web capabilities allow access to patient data from outside the hospital to provide real-time or historical data to “on call” personnel from any location. This capability further improves medical care, as it enables senior staff that may be out of the hospital to view the patient’s monitor and vital signs and offer real-time medical advice to bedside personnel.
Database Interfacing
All monitors included in the system are linked into the CK server, Hemocis, where data is archived and accessible for reference at all times. This information hub serves as the focal point of the CK Net solution, providing a secure and centralised location for all medical staff requiring any type of patient data.
Furthermore, the system enables the viewing of various forms of external data including ECG outputs, ultrasound readings, x-rays and video recordings through the utilisation of software packages, including Citrix and other relevant programs.
Research and Reporting
CK Net enables the transferral of patient monitoring data to an external computer in easy to use formats, allowing physicians to conduct clinical research without the help of professional programmers.
In addition, with Envoy Explorer the critical “events strips” can be exported to any network-connected personal computer. This feature facilitates the production of customised patient condition reports according to specific requirements, securing important data and improving efficiency.
Wireless Monitoring
The installation of a wireless LAN interface with the monitors enables the physician to connect patients to the network and central station. Patient data remains protected with the help of industry-standard techniques of data encryption.
CK Net uses a Monitor LAN network for all its monitoring devices.
This system comprises some of CKL’s innovative and fully compatible equipment, designed to function as a comprehensive, hospital-wide service.
